    • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
    • 2-4 tbsp peanut oil you can also use other kinds of oil; amount depends on how creamy you want peanut butter to be

    Instructions
    1. (Optional; see notes) Roast the peanuts. Heat oven to 350 degrees Farenheit and toast peanuts for around 10 minutes, until lightly golden and glossy.
    2. Transfer peanuts to your blender food processor and pulse them a number of times until ground. (If you like chunky peanut butter, set aside 1/2 cup of these chopped nuts.)
    3. Run your food processor continuously for one minute. Scrape the sides and bottom of bowl. The peanut butter will most likely look dry and gritty.
    4. Process again for one minute, and scrape down sides of bowl. The butter should be clumping together at this point.
    5. Run processor for another minute, then see if the butter is soft but thick, and glossy.
    6. You can then add the oil, salt, sweetener and whatever add-ins you like, with amounts depending on your preference.
    7. Process everything for one to two minutes, until they are spreadable and you are satisfied with the smoothness. (If it seems that the peanut butter isn't getting smooth enough after about 15 minutes, you can add a few more oil.) Note that homemade peanut butter can't be as perfectly smooth as the commercially made ones.
    8. Taste your mixture, and add more of your ingredients if you wish. If you have set aside chunky peanuts, this is the time to add them. Incorporate by pulsing a few times.
    9. Transfer peanut butter to a glass jar, or any container you have available.

    Recipe Notes
    • Roasting peanuts: Roasting warms up oil inside the peanuts, making it easier to blend everything. Plus, it gives a deeper flavour to your butter.
