    Cake
    1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
    2. Mix all DRY ingredients in a greased 8" square baking pan.
    3. Make 3 depressions in dry ingredients - two small, one larger.
    4. Pour vinegar in one depression, vanilla in the other and the vegetable oil in third larger depression.
    5. Pour water over all. Mix well until smooth.
    6. Bake on middle rack of oven for 35 minutes.
    7. Check with toothpick to make sure it comes out clean.
    8. Let it cool.
    Frosting
    1. Combine chocolate chips, evaporated milk, butter and vanilla in microwave-proof bowl.
    2. Microwave on full power for 30-40 seconds.
    3. Remove and whisk until chocolate chips melt in and mixture is smooth (return to microwave for a few seconds if necessary).
    4. Add powdered sugar and continue whisking until smooth.
    5. Top the cake with this frosting.
    Recipe Notes
    • NOTE: The frosting recipe shared here contains dairy products. If you are on a strict no animal by-product recipe, you can choose not to make the frosting. The cake is delicious on its own!
    • This delicious dessert can also be made with gluten free mixes!
    • Frosting recipe makes for a thin layer on your 9x13 cake, so just double the measurements if you want a thicker frosting. 🙂
